There definitely aren't any that work with 1. No need to be so harsh - unfortunately, while there are many people who like to not use a CD for games in some cases like I mentioned earlier, with a laptop that has no built-in CD drive , it is unfortunate that many more people are looking to pirate the game.
And, as we have seen, there are many people who have posted here who had illegal beta versions and who also have obtained the final version without payment. I always try to assume innocence first, unless there is clear indication of piracy. LoneRiver "Michael D. True, but even the most careful can make a mistake, and it only takes one well placed scratch to cause problems. Yay for you Mr Perfect.
I guess the easy solution is for all of us ham-handed freaks. Of course ham-handed freaks are people too. Swapping cd's is a pain. I have downloaded one that doesn't work and two viruses, doh!
New to this newsgroup and I just found this thread. I've had 'some' success using it years ago for the few games I have - but have not tried it lately for anything new I've gotten, mostly because I just found my keycode for my CloneCD version finally after many months of looking. I prefer to load the game from the original - then clone them - then put the original away for good and use the clones to preserve the originals from accidents, drops, etc.
The DVD now is a coaster getting sent back to them. So they're not unbreakable and things can happen to them! Jedi Academy: NoCD possible? Reply to author. You can only use first level heal while standing still; second level heal can be used whilst running and attacking though it heals over time; and third level heal acts instantly.
But once again, fans of the original JK will be worried that they have no influence whatsoever over the way their character develops. This was after all a popular feature of JK that added a very subtle, yet albeit distinct RPG slant to the game. In the multiplayer game the availability of Force powers as pick-ups means you can still develop your character the way you want.
And as an extra bonus, LAN and Internet players even get to choose the colour of their lightsaber. There is a practical use too; it provides online Jedis with a totally unique look. But what other weapons will we be treated to? As previously mentioned there are 12 in total including your standard blaster, a stun baton, a rather tasty crossbow, trusty old thermal detonators, a wicked laser rifle featuring an liber-powerful zoom, and a lethal disintegrate gun that does exactly that.
All these delights are played out over nine different environments ranging from space stations to vast outdoor levels. As you would expect, each one of these is painstakingly detailed and in homage to JK2s predecessor the sheer dramatic sense of size and space is utterly breathtaking.
Controversy and disagreement will not be far away though. Your lack of influence over the way Kyle develops will cause friction amongst the reviewing fraternity, and importing old levels from ancient games is another contentious issue. Roll on April. I love the first-person carnage with Imperial Repeaters and Concussion Rifles; I love the third-person carnage with lightsabers and customizable Force powers. The villains are memorable, the locations are intriguing, the challenges are challenging, and the vintage FMV cutscenes are precious.
Saber combat is about as sophisticated as a fifth-grade love poem and the graphics have aged about as well as an unrefrigerated piece of meat, but even that relative simplicity has its charm. If a true sequel could ever hope to come near the brilliance of Jedi Knight , it would need to capture the spirit of Jedi Knight , build on the innovation of MotS , and become bigger, more modern, and more refined.
The game kicks off with Kyle on a not-exciting mission for the New Republic with longtime spaceship pilot and not-girlfriend Jan Ors. The ensuing story is one of revenge, redemption, and reloading saved games, as lightsabers are fatal when applied liberally to your torso. While there are many reasons to play JKII , the robust and elegant lightsaber combat is, dismembered hands-down, the primary selling point.
Saber attacks are coordinated with your movements, so a running slash will have a different effect from a cowardly standing swipe. Special moves, including a sneaky backwards saber thrust and a blood-rage leap slash, increase your chances of dying while trying to show off.
