HeartGold and SoulSilver bring dozens of Pokemon characters back into the limelight for a new Pokemon generation — and longtime fans — to catch, train and battle.

Nintendo announced Golden Sun DS at its E3 press conference and showed off some unmercifully brief footage in trailer form. The game features three sections in its main menu: My House, where the player designs microgames, WarioWare, the tutorial, and My Shop, where the player makes microgame cassettes. This is an enjoyable sports game as much as it's a celebration of gaming history. The hit party game for Wii made a return on the Switch and, outside the lack of motion control, it's a more-than-worthy remaster.

Along with the fun single-player platforming, there are also 10 delightful party games that range from whack-a-mole to snowboarding and targets. Not only have the visuals been spruced up, but the added online Decathlon competitions expand the replay value quite a bit. This makes for a fun alternative to both Wii Sports and Super Mario Party , with exciting platforming states to boot. Camelot and Nintendo again prove to be a winning team when it comes to crafting Mario sporting games that are accessible, fun, and fairly deep all in one measure.

The game draws from the simple, appealing gameplay of past iterations while amping up the party gameplay and mixing in some fun new twists. Moreso than ever, Mario Golf Super Rush infuses a fast-paced party style of gameplay into what's typically a slower, more subdued sport.

This largely comes via the new Speed Golf mode, which has players scramble to knock out courses quickly rather than shooting for the fewest strokes.

Battle Golf runs with this same frantic pace while stressing more competitive gameplay by tossing in abilities and dropping players in an arena setting. Yet the Camelot hallmarks also make a return, with a full-fledged story mode that sprinkles in rewarding RPG elements.

When disregarding rehashes at least—Switch's Mario Party debut from remains one of the best ways to play this fan-favorite party franchise in many years. While Super Mario Party maintains that classic series feel, various new elements manage to shine; revitalizing a series that had verged on feeling stale for many.

These include the new co-op-centric mode River Survival, nuanced motion controls as well as HD rumble, and most significantly—a refined, endlessly fun online mode.

After the lukewarm Mario Tennis effort on the Wii U , Nintendo rebounded in a big way with this enjoyable and fleshed-out sequel on the Switch. With a dynamic story mode and solid online functionality, this is arguably the best rendition of Mario Tennis to date, and one of the best sports titles on the Switch. The game balances arcade-style party gameplay with more traditional tennis sensibilities. It offers a variety of abilities and power-ups, along with unique scenarios in its story mode to give it that " Mario " feel.

At the same time, it also offers a more stripped-down, classic experience, if that is what is so desired. The game shines both in terms of quality and quantity. It offers a well-crafted digital version of various classic board and card games primarily, along with a few Wii Play classics such as Shooting Gallery, Air Hockey, and Tanks.

Wii Sports fans should also find much to love about this party game, however, with games like Toy Baseball and Toy Tennis. There's even a Bowling game that just might be even more enjoyable and refined than Wii Bowling.
